A man needs an adventure. A journey that will shape him and challenge him. A man needs his fellow man. To travel with him, to push him, to encourage him. He needs time to get away. To be renewed. To spend time thinking about important things, things that he can pass on to the next generation. A man needs fun. He needs to eat well. To slow down and ask himself - what makes a man?
Man Camp is a weekend experience where men of all ages can find that time and space. To be challenged - spiritually and physically. Time to be equipped to lead at home. At church. At work. Man Camp offers men the chance to experience brotherhood, and learn what God expects of us as men.
Through their time in God's Word, and in purposeful activities, Man Camp is a tool to help men find their path, to sharpen each other, and to be filled - both in body and in soul. Man Camp will also feature an Impact Track - which will geared toward fathers and sons.
Chad Williams, former Navy SEAL, will share about his experiences becoming what he thought was the ultimate symbol of masculinity, only to find that it left him empty. Chad's journey to Christ shows how even in our darkest places, the light of Christ can shine through.
Join us on the journey...Man Camp. Sept. 29 - Oct 1, 2017.
Days before Chad Williams was to report to military duty in Great Lakes, Illinois, he turned on a television and was greeted with the horrifying images of his mentor, US Navy SEAL Scott Helvenston, being brutally murdered in a premeditated ambush on the roads of Fallujah, Iraq. Steeled in his resolve, Chad followed in Scott’s footsteps and completed the US military’s most difficult and grueling training to become a Navy SEAL. One of only 13 from a class of 173 to make it straight through to graduation, Chad served his country on SEAL Teams One and Seven for five years, completing tours of duty in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Iraq.
Author of his new book SEAL of God, Chad shares his journey through the grueling Naval Ops training and onto the streets of Iraq, where he witnessed the horrors of war up close. Chad shares his own radical conversion story and talks about how he draws on his own experiences as a SEAL to help others better understand the depths of Christ’s sacrifice and love.
