Canoeing the rapids on the Flambeau River

Flambeau River

Canoeing enthusiasts from all over the country recognize the Flambeau River as one of the finest paddling rivers. Traveling down the river, paddlers will experience both serene, still waters and challenging rapids. Campsites situated near the banks are accessible only by water, providing an ideal setting for great campfire conversations at night and peaceful opportunities for reflection. 


Kayaker on the Brule River

Bois Brule River

The Brule River flows 50 miles north into Lake Superior, providing paddlers with the thrill of 80-plus rapids. As one of the most secluded, navigable rivers in the state, the river provides an excellent opportunity for canoers and kayakers to get away For anglers, the river is also a popular trout stream with brown and brook trout frequently pulled from the many pools scattered throughout the river's length.
